    this is fascinating, I hadn’t seen any landsknecht swords other than the katzbalger and zweihander before. The T-shaped pommel and short grip imply a handshake grip (or else one side of the pommel would hit your wrist), and the front of that pommel looks to be a very positive hand retention feature on the pinky. I love the one-sided shell guard, looks very easy to wear. The similarity in design (but not so much form) to contemporary rapiers is evident.
