Joking about suicide can still be harmful to folks who struggle with suicidal ideation. I get the point is that it’s ridiculous to think the people would make such a serious decision just to besmirch Trump. Nonetheless I don’t much care for the joke either.
I guess that’s true too. I feel really icky about suicide jokes, and I struggle with ideation all the time, but I guess some people do use humor to cope with difficult situations. I guess we can have the joke, but some of us can feel bad about it too
I don’t know how we can have a discussion forum about pretty much anything during this holocaust. If mocking the perpetrators is off limits because of potential thoughts, I can’t imagine how people are managing with ongoing reality.

it can also be a relief valve. i’d even put down money that the majority of suicide jokes are made by people with severe depression.
