Rock update: the hill next to my camp has several old prospecting sites. It seems to be a dormant volcano as there are deposits of what I think is kimberlite (crumbly dark rock with lots of crystalline inclusions, remnants of lava tubes mined for diamonds). I got a good little piece of that.
