Any remarks about the actual content of the videos is being drowned out.
the ‘stop killing games movement’ is more important in my opinion than the physical drive issue. you can have the game dvd and not be able to play it if there are no more servers, or the studio simply shuts down the game.
They are very closely linked, though. You are not incorrect, but the vast majority of games shipped on disc can be played without servers, etc. Once they take those physical discs away, the only way to get them will be digital distribution, which is way more prone to being shut down than every disc in existence being destroyed.

And the physical discs aren’t the problem. People billing it down to that means the problem won’t get solved. Might as well tell Sony they don’t care about the real issue. Since PS4/XB1, games have basically required Internet to play. If the game is delisted, it still won’t play even if you have the disc. Delisting is the real problem. Stopping sales of the game isn’t fine, but it’s forgivable. But let people who own it play it in perpetuity. Or refund their money.
