I recently learned that players aren’t allowed to cover their mouths during a game because of the frequent instances of players saying racial slurs at one another
It’s not just slurs (nowadays it’s very rare for players to do that during the game usually it’s the fans who say racist shit), players would constatly trash talk the referee and other players. Shit like that already ruined other games in the past, like what happened with Zinédine Zidane and Marco Materazzi during the 2006 World Cup.
