What’s the context on this? Having a hard time finding anything

Edit: looks like Metal Gear Solid, Psycho Mantis flight. I only see stuff about changing the controller port though, AI slop summary says you can win the fight by “inspecting the game case or switching ports” but doesn’t say what inspecting the case accomplishes and I don’t see anyone else mentioning it.

Sounds like the AI slop mixed up a snippet from the MGS5 Fandom site where there’s a hint in the manual related to completing an extra operation. Has nothing to do with the OG mantis fight solution.

Oh, you mean the same Hideo Kojima who watched Konami/Sony unceremoniously yank his work (P.T.) off consoles a few years ago with next to no notice?

    Yeah, that tracks.

Sadly not always anymore. Publishers are esuring more and more of the game’s actual content and logic is kept serverside, even if the game is supposedly single player. Bypassing DRM on such games only gets you a lobotomised client shell and is a core argument behind the SKG initiative and general presevation efforts.

I heard the new James Bond game locks single player abilities and unlocks behind an always-online connection. You can play without it, but you can’t level up or unlock any new skills or abilities.
