I hope she didn’t say ‘what the fuck man i did not consent to this trip’ because that’s what I would want to say. Mushrooms are on my never ever do list, I hope no one feeds them to me after I lose capacity.

They’re fine, it’s not that bad or scary. If it saves your mental capacity why is that a bad thing?

So do you want to tell us why you feel this way? In general, mushrooms are considered exceedingly safe.

Mushrooms in general are gross to me, and I prefer to be fully cognizant of any potentially hallucinogenic experiences that are about to happen to me.

You are fully cognizant of the experience while tripping on physobicilian (I have no idea how to spell that if it’s incorrect) mushrooms, that’s kind of the whole point. They allow you to be introspective to a level that’s not normally possible. You are hyperconcious and able to temporarily dissolve your pre conceived biases and beliefs and re-examine them. It can be a religious experience or a therapeutic one that depends on the person and the stimulus. It allows you to form new novell connections between your brains different regions that don’t normally coordinate together. Yeah there’s mild euphoria for normal doses and visual effects at even higher doses (wavyness) but that’s not the appeal for most people. No, you do not get cartoon vision and waking dreams/ nightmares. That’s ergot/LSD you’re thinking of. The craziest thing that mushrooms will do to you is make you want to put your toes in the dirt and feel the breath and pulse of the planet beneath you and around you as you: become one with the earth / feel the force like a Jedi.

I wouldn’t recommend tripping casually but definitely something that a mature adult can and should do at least once in a controlled environment with supervision.

Yes, psychedelics like any other drug can be abused. Yes, there are dangers such as visual snow syndrome.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
