I took it so seriously as a young teen but I am rewatching it as an adult with my partner and this is one of the funniest animes I have watched. Would recommend a rewatch to anyone who hasn’t seen it since they were a kid. Completely different vibes, the dub is great as well.

IDK but most Death Note parodies I’ve seen, if they get political, make Light into a gamer or conservative anti-woke of some kind lol. And they might make the Yagami-spelled-backwards joke.
Also he’s a genius who never stops to wonder if a substancial amount of crime is an emergent phenomenon derived from structural failures in politics or the economy. In fact he gives the magical notebook to some corrupt FinanceBro and let’s him use it on corporate enemies as long as he uses it to mass 86 the poors.
