Welsh and Scottish independence is nice and all but without a revolutionary government willing to resort to violence to assert that independence, we will simply produce another Catalonia or (Iraqi) Kurdistan.

A bunch of imprisoned (or dead) secessionists in return for the status quo is a death sentence for anyone willing to put their movement to task.
