China and Japan and most of Asia love their sweet red bean paste desserts and they’re right, those are tasty as hell and go great with tea

the problem with baked beanis starts with it being sweet while still being part of the main meal (which in of itself isn’t necessarily a problem, see sweet plantains and how good they go with a plate of rice and beans) but then it’s made worse due to the vinegar and the overpowering ketchup flavor
