They’re kind of weird. There’s chats to actually get work done, sub-groups and committees, etc. But a lot of office jobs have “fun” groups also for people to talk about books they’re reading, movies, etc. And someone always overshares their usually bad opinions and makes it uncomfortable.
I actually have fun with 1 co-worker. He is older but a green-socdem type with decent geopolitical takes for a boomer. I could send him this and I think he would get it. (mostly)
