I don’t think its coming from anywhere except that they are all deeply steeped in individualism. Individualist reactionaries hear “we need a vanguard party” and think reflexively “great so who is going to start it? Not me.” because the idea of a group of people all willingly working together and sharing a single vision is entirely alien to them. They think only in terms of self service and self interest. They also 100% follow great man theory. So assume you are saying they should be that great man.
