I live in a rural area where there’s a lot of construction going on all the time. The workers are all younger pickup truck-driving white dudes and honestly look pretty reactionary. I assume they are actually paid a living wage at least although there are no benefits and no union. Is it possible to organize these people? What do I even say to them? Are there any pamphlets you can recommend for me to print out? Or should I not even bother?

With little exception, you can’t organize a workplace that’s not yours. Don’t mistake driving a truck for being reactionary.

If these guys are working in construction, there’s a chance they’re the only union workers in your area. Like any area the building trades have had a lot of losses in unionization, but they are still one of the stronger sectors.
