It seems pretty contrived and too perfect, like it was made with a check list of all the important points necessary to charge him. Live updates about trying to get the rifle etc even though roomie isn’t freaking out or telling him to be safe. Maybe he was yapping so much because he was under extreme stress and unexpectedly shocked by what he had just done so he was reaching out or something but that doesn’t make the roommate’s responses less abnormal in this situation.

This could be some kind of secret compromise with him, he gets life instead of the death penalty and they promise to leave Lance alone in exchange for him not revealing he was a groyper shitposter who simply kept that separate from his more normie gamer friends. Play up some pro-trans sentiment because manufacturing a connection to antifa where there was none could fuck everything up. They could and would do shit like this to prevent an absolute meltdown between the far right factions which is kinda already happening.

Or also very likely Tyler was basically lost, clueless, good boy character from republican family with default settings, lived in a conservative bubble all his life, ended up getting realitypilled due to a relationship and suddenly realized that some people are really also people with feelings etc and some agitators are actually dangerous extremists and fascists so he pulled an incredibly naive but principled John Brown. He’s more like the only sane and responsible gun owner of America in this version and everyone else is just desensitized as fuck to polite extermination rhetoric and enacted legislation making it happen. This is almost a standard profile of lone wolf political assassins of conscience but people love conspiracy shit too much to remember Leon Czolgosz etc.

Then again transphobia wasn’t Charlie Kirk’s primary grift and I’m not aware of him pushing that lately, Matt Walsh is the head transphobe so this version doesn’t fully fit either. Both versions could likely be total copium and the whole thing probably seems strange because everyone is completely alienated and can’t imagine violent, self destructive but altruistic acts without reading a ton of theory first or being a rabid neonazi. Maybe it’s an answer to the question “what would you do if you were in Nazi Germany in 1933” by someone who wasn’t political enough to seek organized action and wait for the conditions to be right first and all the usual crap that paralyze the left.

He was lying about trans shooters literally the moment he got shot though

It was a big part of his repertoire but I wouldn’t single him out as the most rabid or effective transphobe. Unless I’m missing something I don’t think he’d stand out compared to Crowder or Jordan Peterson on this specific subject. Walsh and JKR managed to make everyone else look lukewarm and I don’t specifically remember Kirk getting mentioned much as an exceptional shithead in trans circles. Could be opportunistic though as one of many who simply happened to be within reach even though he wasn’t the most rabid one.

Yeah he wasn’t the biggest transphobe, I feel like his main thing was normalizing white supremacy, and transphobia is a tool in the white supremacy toolkit. He did get the “blame trans people for mass shootings” memo though, and was following it dutifully.

It does feel opportunistic to me too, like Matthew Crooks the shooter lived relatively nearby so he probably went for the first ghoul to wander into range. Either way he took the trash out so critical support to g*mers who fire guns at horrible people.

Of course, it’s a curated list of specific texts that support the prosecution’s case. That’s why there are omissions in the chat log. They’re not submitting all of his texts, just the ones they think are most relevant to the case. The defense will have to get access to the full logs and submit counter points.

I thought it could be edited and put together as a dialogue but that would be misleading nonetheless, it’s not presented as quotes. And it’s suspicious that the roommate isn’t more prominent in there but mostly absent even though they apparently knew right from the beginning. Destroying that note would normally get a charge for being an accessory after the fact and they’re bloodthirsty for trans involvement but that’s not happening for some reason. Which would imply a deal.

I’ll be pretty agnostic until Tyler starts singing in court, this isn’t clear at all.
