The fun thing about being a billionaire shill denying climate change is that the billionaires won’t let you into their bunkers to survive it. Learning Will Occur for them and the other reactionaries trying to deny basic reality.

He’s purposefully misrepresenting the article in the tweet to encourage engagement.

The whole article says nothing more than: hey, some candidates are still pushing green energy, they’re just emphasizing the effect on jobs and cost of living rather than climate goals.

It’s very funny how liberals discovering material reality matters to people comes as a surprise.

considering majority of people don’t read articles, it’s functionally giving free fodder for discourse which will be linked 5 year from now as “see, even lefties thought climate was a losing strategy”.

why on earth would you engage in this (you know why, to get new york crimes writer in your resume for podcasts) as a leftist is anyone guess

Also, working class people do care about climate change, they just don’t understand why, if it is such an issue, the Democrats only ever take half-measures to combat it. Of which there is only two reasonable responses, either the Democrats don’t actually care about climate change and therefore don’t deserve your electoral support outside of when it is convenient (which is true), or the Democrats must be lying about the severity in order to drum up votes because Democrats lie about everything all the time (which is an falsehood based in a truth).

Working class people only respect shit when you can be seen to be actually doing something, or when your level of rhetoric matches your level of action.

The failure of the Democratic Party has exposed innumerable opportunists who push the most regressive policies imaginable in the midst of the chaos

Why won’t you just forget all the issues your base cares about and instead serve capital even harder? I am a king of winning elections

The Dems are losing working class voters and that’s why the Dems should continue to do literally nothing for the working class. That’ll fix it

Ah yes, I’m sure the working class doesn’t care about climate change when they’re the ones facing the droughts, heatwaves, tornados, food shortages, destroyed supply lines, and the end of the world while the billionaires chill in their self sustaining nuclear bunkers.
