James Burke is the GOAT
Archive.org has all of the Connections episodes (and more) to view or download.
Peak educational television.
That and his other one, The Day the Universe Changed (great 1st episode btw, very existential dread).
Cosmos.
NOVA
Other PBS series as well.
Why don’t we have this now? I used to say they weren’t needed as much because we had the internet and everything right there, but lately the internet sucks worse than not having any of it. That’s such a first world problem statement to say, but when it’s 90%+ low content garbage and the search engines are crap now… how do you find the good stuff?
The Nature of Things has been rocking that format for 60 years. CBC show. Segments and maybe whole shows available on youtube, or if Canadian, in the app.
Speaking of old television, a very good essay by Tom Scott: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUF4afxMpQk
