FINAL UPDATE: Success! Thanks to all of you and your support <3

DAY 10 UPDATE: Still just $50 short. Its too late to start today, but the neighbor is still willing to do it this weekend just as long as I can get this last bit to pay him for the job. Please help me get over this last hump. I had to pay rent yesterday and only had $10 leftover to add to the tipout total sadly, it’ll be another two weeks until I get money again and I can’t wait that long and risk another downpour, my place is already getting wrecked each time it does and I am nervous about sustaining any more rain damage to the living area. I appreciate any help anybody can give. Thank you all again ;)

DAY 9 UPDATE: Whew, home stretch now. Talked to the neighbor last night and he has tomorrow off, so if I can get this last $60 by tomorrow he’ll grab the materials from the hardware store and start tomorrow afternoon, he said it should only take maybe 4-5 hrs and we’ll be up and running. No more unintentional skylight lol. Thanks again everyone, it means the world to me <3

DAY 8 UPDATE: $75 more and I can get this hammered out this weekend. Thanks again for all the support! <3

DAY 7 UPDATE: So close I can taste it, thank you to everyone who was able to help! I just need this last $100 and I’ll have enough to pay the neighbor to fix this damn thing. I’m so relieved that it’s so close, I’ve been nervous about it after this weekend, luckily it looks like this weekend will be clear weather so it’ll be the perfect time to fix it too. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this last push <3 <3 <3

DAY 6 UPDATE: The weekend storm flooded my living area again sadly, on the upside though, I had a friend pitch in some funds, so with what she was able to do and what the kind comrades were able to here a few days ago, I am only $150 away from paying the neighbor to repair this damn roof on my tipout. I appreciate any help you can give, comrades! I can’t wait to not have to shovel water anymore and have a dry living room again ;D

DAY 3 UPDATE: Rained pretty hard last night, not as bad as the initial storm, but nonetheless had to deal with cleaning up a bunch of water this morning. Thanks to whoever it was that sent the $75, now just need to get to $275 and I’ll have this crap over with, it’s def getting old lol

DAY 2 UPDATE: Rained again last night and was super nervous, but luckily not too hard, still the rainy season though so there could be a deluge coming and any moment.

Thanks again comrades, I look forward to any support that’ll help get me out of this craziness <3

I live on a mountain side in a fifth wheel with a tip out and we frequently have pretty bad rainstorms. Well, yesterday evening we had the worst one since I’ve been there. I wasn’t home, but came home that evening to see the aftermath.

I opened the door and the roof had completely fallen in, well, it’s the thin material that overlays a foam board and plywood, the week before the foam board had fallen in, but I have barely been able to even cover rent and figured it could wait until this summer when I can start a second job.

That side of the tip out has no covering at all thin or otherwise, and the tarp had fallen in with probably 7-8 gallons of water and spilt more all over the floor. I didn’t know what to do, so I just tried shoveling the water out with a bucket, which worked until part of the tarp fell down and flooded all that water into my living room and dining area. Basically I had to push it out with a mop until the floor was only partially wet and then mop the rest up with all of my towels.

Now, I basically have a skylight where, if it rains like that again, and most likely will, will just pour all the rain unhindered into my place and I have no way to pay for it to get fixed anytime soon which is super bad for my living room area.

The neighbor is a carpenter and said he’d do it for $350, materials and labor, but there’s no way I can swing that anytime in the next month, I’m barely covering rent with my pay as it is.

So, if you comrades could help me out I’d be much obliged, I don’t want my place to be a swimming pool again lol

You guys have helped me so much in the past, and I hate to have to ask again, but I honestly have nowhere else to turn, it’s a small town with no place that provides any aid. I appreciate anything that anyone can contribute.
