I mean same for shitposts in German. Just funnier when it’s a language you sorta understand, but not completely.

I always laugh at German memes. I have absolutely no idea what they are. When I see them i imagine a German person crafting a meme which is just a statement of fact and laughing to themself.

Luckily ich kann ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen y hablo un poco Español, but it’s only a little in case of the former and even less for the latter. So I’m nearly quadrilingual, but really just bilingual lol

I do get the terms front/rear left/right just from vl, vr, hl, hr though, which is mildly amusing because that comes from owning and fixing formerly luxurious German shitboxes, not the 7 years of German class I had in school.

      Rough translation:

Linux Mint: thanks to Steam and Proton I can run Windows games with more FPS. Gabe Newell, you are blessed!

Windows: the Microsoft telemetry ate the RAM, I can’t give so much FPS

I would translate the sentences the same except I would change the ends of those two sentences to say: “Bless you, Gabe Newell” and “I can’t give as many fps”.

Yeah, the subjunctive can be more than a little confusing for us english speakers. Wishes, desires, and doubts use that conjugation. In this case op is wishing blessings on Gaben so we have to use the subjunctive.

    ¿¡Un meme en español!?

    ¡¿En Lemmy?!

Hace falta una comunidad activa de usuarios hispanohablantes por aquí (Lemmy), en serio.

Nota: Me saludan al Yo uso software libre, ¡díganle que se una al Fediverso!
