It’s all wishful thinking. It’s profitable for commentators and influencers to say that there is an increased number of workers spontaneously destroying their workplaces because it’s what people want to hear.

There are thousands of structural fires at industrial sites in the US every year, like at least 10 every day. The nonprofit org below says that there were 1544 warehouse fires in the US between 2020 to 2024 and 7% of them were found to be started intentionally.

In order for there to be a new trend, there would have to be a deviation from the existing statistics.
