Stalin got super rattled when his daughter was left alone with Beria for a short amount of time. If he knew his own daughter was at risk of Beria doing something to her, despite being who she is, imagine what he knew he did to “less important” women and girls.
I read the source account of that and, from memory, it was multiple officials at a gathering, Stalin was on a terrace with his daughter when Beria approached, which is when the comment was made.
Which to me sounds like playful ribbing being framed as something nefarious.
There are also close and friendly “family pictures” of Beria with Stalin’s family which directly contradict the claim Stalin didn’t want his daughter near him. He literally invited Beria into the family home.
It also seems extremely improbable that a sex pest would target the daughter of his boss and patron, the general secretary of the communist party of the USSR. So it seems obvious that these allegations against Beria are at least in part being manufactured which makes me question them in their entirety.
