The economies of all of these countries are built directly on top of western exploitation of the Global South. They’re not closed economies that produce the things they need domestically.

Luxembourg for instance was heavily involved in the admin in belgian congo. Austra Hungary tried to get a colony in Africa but didn’t have the capacity. And like you said def isn’t a closed economy. unfortunately a lot of mentioned countries ended up embracing the racial hierarchy that spread.

I’m too old to be arguing on the internet. Not sure how is economy of Cyprus is “built directly on top of exploration of the Global South” but it you believe that, I certainly won’t be able change that. Nor do I care to.

Regarding the “they are not closed economies that produce things they need domestically” - well, that’s how global economy/trade works, and has always worked?

People living in Cyprus consume goods produced by western corporations that exploit cheap labor markets in countries subjugated by the west. This has fuck all to do with trade. It’s imperialism and colonialism where the west invades countries, overthrows sovereign governments, runs coups, death squads, and so on, in order to exploit the populations of these countries. Many books have been written on the subject, and one has to be shamefully ignorant to not understand this.
