PlayStation always outsold Xbox and yes including PlayStation 3 nothing new here. Microsoft prioritize games and services over hardware sale
2025 was the year when Xbox was outsold by Nex Playground. Xbox is not even top 3 in yearly hardware sales anymore.
I’m pretty sure Xbox died in 2013 when they botched the Xbone unveil.
The XBox has always been a play by Microsoft to keep one toe into the console space to keep the pipeline between console and PC games open.
The problem for Microsoft right now is that it isn’t making money on being in either space.
Except when it was more pivoted to be a living room media device for a time
There was an age where Microsoft was trying to do that as well; it failed miserably.
I partially blame the anti-trust settlement preventing Microsoft from being more aggressive.
People still buy consoles? There’s so many better choices now and you can use a controller on any of them.
