Sargent has a serious case of pundit brain and polling brain to the point he’s incapable of critical thinking skills and of using common sense. He believes that the dems just need to use the right messaging.

Stephen Miller is privately raging over deportation numbers he deems too low. So he’s shifting huge amounts of law enforcement resources away from fighting serious crimes and into his immigration crackdown.

    Nate Silver isn’t active on Bluesky so I have no idea what sort of awful takes he’s been churning out but I think I’ll always hate people like Sargent even more. Silver is snide, obnoxious, and a troll. But he gets bored on any particular thing and moves on. Sargent never, ever shuts the fuck up and goes on and on and on digging himself into deeper and deeper holes. I imagine people just like him run all the levers of power in the democratic party.

    If voters knew about this, they’d recoil.

    They don’t already know? It’s been high profile news for a while now that these immigration crackdowns have been going after innocuous individuals and not criminal cartel gangsters. Libs always have this assumption that the only explanation for why people aren’t flocking to their centrist party is because they’re dumb-dumb heads who haven’t been educated enough.

      Years ago - I thought Sargent was a pro-democrat pundit who occasionally lied to make the dems look good. But recently after seeing some of his Bluesky posts about Trump 2.0 - I realized I don’t think he was lying at all. He’s an stupendous imbecile.

      Ninja edit. In the body text I used the term “polling brain” which is self explanatory but I noticed I also used the weird term “newspaper brain”. I meant to say “pundit brain”. He think’s of himself as a high priest of data and numbers. He won’t allow himself to accept that his entire worldview could be all wrong - for example - simply because the chuds have been lying to pollsters for years.

      They seem to think that there will be retribution for the support of Trump’s heinous policies, which happens here and there, but they’re isolated cases.

    My online chortling must’ve gotten to Sargent Snowflake. He must have seen my reply to him just after I posted it and he got Bluesky to remove my reply to him in record time. I think within minutes.
