I appreciate the ambiguity of Perrin. There’s no way that he wouldn’t have been pumped for information constantly by everybody that the empire could use. If he were really antagonistic towards Mon, he could have at any moment, worked to destroy her. Instead he very loudly does things, in an almost over the top way. Was he being sincere about his complaints to Mon (while in front of crowds of people, their daughter, or their ISB planted driver) or was he hamming it up to give people something juicy to feed to the ISB?

There’s something to be said about knowing when to behave in a certain way that helps somebody out without specifically knowing what they are needing or being specifically asked. There’s intrisic value in just… creating an enviroment where you’ve opened up possibilities that can be used by your comrades without it being a part of a consciously drawn out plan.

It happens in other parts of Andor and has been mentioned in other “Andor Postings”. The maintenance team that suddenly, after months of not doing it, comply fully and thoroughly with repairing the lock on a door that some imperal baddie REALLY needed to have immediate access to. The hotel clerk on Ghor that remembers Cassian and immediatly starts cassually mentioning things like “Your room gets noisy” (letting him know that there is a Storm Trooper position overwatching the plaza), putting him in a room that looks out at the armory without being asked, warning him about the other clerk who isn’t a comrade, and that there was record of him checking in to the hotel… none of these things being presented as if they were a part of some grand well thought out plan. It was all just some people, sitting in a particular place, knowing their role in their particular environment and waiting to be useful.
