hey guys sorry its my first time here on lemmy so i am not sure how to use it fully but i’ve been playing prison acrhitect for a long while though i am finding out i am not too good with designs or money anyone can help me out or tell me how i am doing so far thx :>

haha yeah rimworld and prison architect are like twins in a hat though gotta say i tried out my prison and brother was it hard as life to get out as its super secured despite the weird layouts and all
I like how you have it set up! Leaving yourself room to expand is smart!
If you find you’re struggling with long walk times, think about planning your prison with the inmates’ schedule in mind. So if they wake up, shower, then eat, then work you might want to plan your prison with those facilities laid out roughly in that order so nobody has to backtrack and waste time.
You can also have multiple cell blocks with duplicated facilities in each, so a little group of cells with their own showers and canteen etc. if you can plan a tiny efficient prisoner block with a balanced proportion of facilities, you can easily scale it up by just duplicating it over and over.
well regime is something i struggle most cause i am unsure how to balance it
I haven’t played in a few years so take this with a grain of salt.
My approach is to build things out incrementally. If your cashflow stays positive the entire time, you won’t have money problems.
For design, try to find modular chunks you can repeat. A cellblock with bathroom and showers. A canteen. Make blueprints from them and twist them.
Do you have a foundation and walls around the entire space? I usually kept most stuff outside with a fence around the perimeter.
i honestly just go with the flow like the plan comes in my head its not the best as you can tell but i try to keep it quite better looking this prison as you see i am trying to make it like a very hard prison to escape from but at the same time somewhat of a prison for reform its not the best looking as i said but i try my best

Oh so that’s how you’re supposed to run a prison. My usual strategy of throwing 20 armed guards in a hallway and having a “open room concept” morgue and hospital needs updating it seems
