Not in large volumes, but yes. The keto(genic) diet centers around using fat as a primary energy source. I do it as I have a chronic illness and having higher blood ketone concentrations helps immensely with my symptoms. If I have a high protein, lower fat meal (like sashimi), my ketone levels will drop, so I’ll supplement with a tablespoon or two of medium-chain triglyceride oil to keep them level. It’s practically tasteless.
Spoonful of coconut oil isn’t that bad. If you don’t like that, you can always make it sliiightly more like actual food by making some kind of fat bomb.
an actual keto diet is basically only done out of genuine medical need, because yes it’s not tremendously fun. I’ve read about kids who do it to avoid seizures and they have to chug whipped cream and stuff.
