Falling prices are generally considered to be very damaging to the economy and would likely cause worse problems. And there’s not really any mechanism by which the executive branch could achieve this anyway.
Inflation is now 2.5%. That’s pretty normal. So there really isn’t any food price issue to solve at this point. The real question is: how will her policies affect wages? And what’s the plan to address the housing crisis which in my view is the real problem that is hurting people right now.
