- Colombia has requested permission from the International Court of Justice to intervene in South Africa’s case against Israel for genocide in Gaza, aiming to protect Palestinian safety and existence.
- The ICJ has ordered Israel to ensure timely food supplies to Gaza and previously instructed Israel to refrain from actions under the genocide convention and to prevent genocidal acts against Palestinians, which Israel denies, attributing its actions to targeting Hamas rather than civilians.
countries that are about as far away as you can get from Gaza are the ones that seem to make the news. what’s with that? why not countries like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt?
I would imagine they’d be seen as incredibly biased since they all hate the shit out of Israel and many of them aren’t exactly democratic.
When you have South Africa, Ireland and now Colombia stepping up to the plate it brings more weight IMO.
Plus South Africa and Ireland have a special bond with Palestine due to their own past as victims of especially awful colonialist atrocities. They get what Gaza is going through better than most other countries that anyone in the West will listen to.
They also, get money from Iran.
Yeah because even IF that’s true, that’s SUPER relevant 🙄
Iran is pretty much the central consideration in any matter of mid east policy. If you don’t see the relevance I’m not sure you have any credibility to talk about this, like at all.
Yeah because it can’t be that they care about the Israeli government committing genocide and a shitload of other crimes against humanity because those actions are bad things to do 🙄
Diplomatic relations with Iran and lack of same is completely irrelevant to the facts of the matter.
Iran isn’t forcing the Israeli government to massacre and starve to death tens of thousands of civilians, most of whom are children.
Iran cares about human rights? Their world view does not recognize human rights that cannot be instantly suspended in the name of religious superstition or fear. You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.
Nobody except you is talking about Iran. You can pack that ridiculous whataboutism away.
Sounds identical to Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir on that count.
Right back at you, Hasbara Harry.
Tens of thousands of people starved to death?
What?
Yes. I’m not going to elaborate since I checked your comment history and found out that you’re either a paid Israeli government representative, an idiot gaslighting for free, or both.
Either way, I might as well try to explain to Donald Trump that there is such a thing as too much gold in interior design as try to make you acknowledge any of the many crimes against humanity being committed by the Israeli government in Gaza and the West Bank.
Have the day you deserve.
Oh bugger off!!! You can’t even accept credible sources. Maybe YOU should stop talking nonsense all over every day
These are also all countries that have experiences with human rights abuses.
Saudi is a US alley.
Egypt is under a dictatorship after the military removed the elected official. Egypt hasn’t been the same since France tricked them by pretending to be allies.
Turkey is like two bad moves from being nuked by either US or Russia (Russia falling would seriously relieve a ton of pressure off Turkey and Syria).
Libya still has no government.
Iraq is run by rapist opioid lords set up by Bush II.
Syria is occupied by Russia, Israel, a crappy dictator, and ISIS.
I’m honestly not sure why Lebanon seems to be going bad.
Saudi, US, and Israel have been doing Gaza tactics in Yemen for a long time. They still are the only country helping Palestine. Israel is actually running out of cars which is ironic as they blew up so many Palestinian cars about 12 months ago.
