My favorite sci-fi game is probably Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri. ME1 was the only game in the series that I enjoyed, but it still felt like a de-StarWars-ified KOTOR game.

I believe this to a degree based on my personal experiences with being thought of as either a brilliant wizard or evil hacker for unimpressive things. It even would happen at different jobs until my current job where my boss is the opposite. he thinks that anything and everything is possible and should be “easy” despite being technically illiterate. His new AI obsession has made it so much worse. I actually miss the super annoying “OMG you can do that? You’re a wizard/hacker/demigod!” days.

In my head, I am picturing the Goatse guy popping up in the corner of the screen like the “TOASTY!” guy from Mortal Kombat.

Back around the turn of the millennium (to make me sound aged and wise) I did AOL tech support. I ran into so many people that used AOL email as a storage medium. I received death threats from a guy that lost his doctor thesis work because he was storing it in chunks attached to AOL emails to himself. That isn’t even close to the dumbest thing I encountered in that ring of hell.

I have seen Gwar live more than any other band (well over ten times), and it was always a good time. I haven’t seen them since Oderus (Brockie) died though, but their new lead singer was the original Beefcake, so I’d still like to go again if I can.

This made my day. I’d totally run a holodeck program based around Monster Squad.

My family overwhelming prefers impossible burger meat over Beyond to the point that they will just ask for something else if I get Beyond. Totally anecdotal info, but if you charge as much as they do, you need to be actually tasty. I also agree with many of the comments that prefer the much older black bean style substitutes like Morningstar, but my family doesn’t love them.

I actually had this happen more than once because of a coworker that uses Copilot and it would help him with code and use functions not in existance. He has since finally stopped trusting Copilot code without more testing.

This isn’t surprising since 4Chan always loved using DDos-style shenanigans against sites. This is just the D&D version. I’m surprised they didn’t call it the “Low Orbit Peasant Cannon”.

I found that I can’t just start and stop reading and get anything out of it in the same way that I can’t just start and stop a game, but that’s good that you can.

While I definitely have less time for things like that, I still find time to play some games usually by giving up a little sleep and playing after the kids are asleep and tons of chores have been done. I can’t imagine that you still don’t need some downtime, you can’t just be “on” all the time without it heavily affecting your mental health. I hope that you have simply found other pursuits that do that for you.

As someone from the south I was 100% for this, but now I live in the north and I can kinda see it. But I’ll never forgive summer for being a hot and humid bastard for most of my life.
