The title makes it seem like they’re putting these pics on the Steam page. Or at least that’s what it seemed like to me.
But they’re actually sneaking these pictures into these capsules you can find in the game. Normally these capsules have screenshots from other players’ games. Now players have found screenshots that are from the sequel (presumably). That’s really cool!
Wow, it’s been so long that I had forgotten about Randy’s stroke. Its a real shame that he can’t really speak or sing anymore. His voice was amazing.
On one hand, this use of AI is really cool. There are a few moments of the audio equivalent of “uncanny valley,” but overall it’s extremely convincing. And if Randy was really as involved in the process as they make it seem, then it’s a great way to give him a “voice” again.
But then again, all this makes me so nervous about the future of the music industry. I really don’t want to live in a world where the music charts are full of posthumous singles.
The Beastles song was a cool use because AI helped clean up an existing performance. Randy Travis releasing a new single using AI to sing for him is a cool opportunity (and maybe some type of closure…?) for him and his family. But I can see the flood gates starting to open…
I can’t imagine Theoden as anybody other than Bernard Hill. He was perfect. RIP.
It looks like there’s nothing I can say to make you see, but even accounting for inflation, the cost of living has been outpacing wages for decades! That’s why the average US worker in the 1950s could support a home with their wages alone, but today, two people working full-time jobs still can’t afford a home.
That’s because the cost of living has been outpacing wages.
That chart lacks context. The cost of living has drastically increased with each generation as well, far outpacing the increase in wages.
Yeah, I think this looks beautiful. I like the idea of catching those wind streams and flying/floating around. Definitely keep an eye on this one!
I don’t totally disagree with you, too. 😜
Every show is going to have its issues! I still skip The Great Divide most times I go through the series again. But it gets SO many things right. The character development, the music, the depth of the culture and bending styles.
I was cautiously optimistic about the show. I was worried why Brian and Mike left, but the costumes and casting seemed promising. Now, I think that might be why the show stings so much: it looks like TLA, it sounds like TLA, but it doesn’t feel like TLA. It’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Given the live-action record of the property, it’s going to be difficult to get fans behind anything. But I would LOVE to have something new and amazing in this world. Hopefully the animated movies can deliver!
Fuck this.
Kinda looks like he has a hole going through him in the middle there.
Fuck the live-action show! All it’s good for is reminding us how incredible the real show is.
They’ll probably make the Guru try to kill Aang before he’s immolated on-screen, which the live action showrunners love to do so much.

Cool! So are the cutscenes fully stop-motion or are they computer animated? I can’t tell…
Minecraft. I know it’s a big company now or whatever, but back when it was just Notch, it was still completely captivating.
Also, Stardew Valley!
Here is a trailer that explains what the game actually is. Looks fun and cozy!
This looks really cool!
Valid point. We’ll have to see… I want to believe!!
So, I’m not going to defend a show I haven’t seen, but I would just like to point out that this is exactly what Peter Jackson did with Aragorn and the entire beginning of Fellowship. He had to change the events and motivations to better suit the overall story and pace.
I can imagine a live-action Aang who is still a kid but also has a clearer motivation of what to do. This person has a point with the original. Aang knows what the Fire Nation is going to do but then turns around and lists all the crazy things he wants to do first. This suits a cartoon better than a live-action show, I think. I can also imagine how they’d screw this up, too. We’ll just have to see…
If you haven’t played it, “Stardew Valley” is, like, ruin-your-life good. And I think part of what makes it so faith assuring and life uplifting is that it was made by one dude who has continuously (for YEARS) released huge, free updates for the game. He’s awesome. It feels good supporting him and recommending such a great game to people. :-)
