Not to mention the amount of analog clocks that are just wrong. I work at a fortune 500 company, most clocks are digital and synced to a time server. Every analog clock is wrong. Just yesterday I walked through the cafeteria and glanced at the clock and it read 5:20… For a second I panicked and was like it can’t be that late. I checked my phone, it was 3:06. The clock was just not set properly.

  • Hold up… You thought maybe you downloaded malware (which in this case that was not the only cause) so you took it upon yourself to reinstall windows on a company issued laptop?

    1. Why are you trying to fix it? Submit It ticket and it’s their problem.

    2. If you suspect malware alert it security immediately. Many malware act as a gateway to lock other systems. Yes you might get in trouble but I’d rather be yelled at for downloading something then yelled at for infecting my company servers will ransomware/malware.

    3. Atleast in my company a computer connecting without a company supplied image of windows will be denied. Completely understand you not connecting to the internet.

    4. This problem was not caused by you but could of been… Take this as a lesson to be more proactive in the future.

  • I know that for FDA or BSI we can’t offer anything at all. We can’t even let them use our building water to drink, they must bring there own water.

One time we worked with the FDA to help expose some new auditors to a real audit(we were not really being audited but told to treat it like a real audit). One of the new auditors didn’t bring anything to drink, assuming there would be water provided. Nope, the senior auditor made them sit there all morning being thirsty and when we broke for lunch the new auditor went across the street to CVS and bought a bottle of water. I felt kind of bad for them. But every other day they arrived with a big bottle of water :-D

When I was a kid I had one of those. My parents bought it from a TV repair store. It was a combination 6" TV, audio tape player, and am/fm radio.

It was about 2 feet by 2 feet and about 8 inches thick. It weighed about 20 pounds. It has a carry handle though so I guess it was “portable”…
