For those wondering what WIRED means, it means that for the effective time of the drug in our systems we don’t have 5 million conflicting thoughts in our heads and for the first time in our lives we can focus on a task, remember tiny details, not run into various obstacles, and a myriad of other tasks that people without ADHD have never struggled with.
In short, for the 4 hours that pill is in our system and working, we can experience being fucking normal and not a gigantic mess struggling to juggle everything life needs from us.
I could see that, but I would also have to ask ‘what exactly do we gain by having access to these tools when we aren’t home?’
I used to try to do all of that but I started to realize, I spend too much time dealing with broken shit. Coming to the mindset of if I’m not home and it doesn’t work then oh well has been one hell of a stress relief for me

I maintain the only reason it has that street name is due to ignorance of the difference between Adderall and meth. Wasn’t too long ago I was listen to conspiracy theorists say it was the same thing based on some bullshit they heard.

While the treatment doesn’t work for me (high blood pressure and naturally easily agitated), if I don’t stand up and say ‘hey that ain’t fucking right!’ then I haven’t done a god damn thing to help my fellow ADHD kid and that don’t sit right with me.

It won’t solve the problems of today but sometimes it can be interesting to see what people of today think for problems and crisises of yesterday. I was in model UN and that was a fairly frequent conference idea.
I also enjoy talking to people because it’s easy for us to say “that’s a colonialist action” and even though it’s true the question becomes (for me) ‘alright how could we have done better’ and discussing that thought experiment
and I appreciate the call-out, I definitely didn’t assume you were calling me one.
Maybe for a better question we ask “what could I have done as Winston Churchill or (I think it was) Truman.” While they were singular people they did give the diplomats their marching orders when it came to the peace resolutions.
Bit of an idealistic answer but I like it.
Points for consideration, there were a handful of ships full of Jews during WW2 seeking asylum. It’s widely believed that world leaders knew of or suspected that the Holocaust was murdering Jews around the time those boats were rejected for asylum.
Additionally, even after people knew the details of the Holocaust people still didn’t really like Jews.
