Balancing performance against power draw is tough. You’ll find diminishing returns on adding more cores when a bigger core might complete a task faster and use less power overall. Tensor 3 is also a nona-core, but in general, i think we’ll probably see companies stick with symmetrical big/little core counts.
Yup. Kind of a gish gallop of buzzwords to keep investors happy…
Kinda the perfect place to start pushing app bundles more, but yeah, I’ll be really patient waiting for this one to roll out to my chromecast…
Ha! That was my favorite part of shooting the editorial. Thanks for sharing 😁
I used to game a lot on a desktop, but now that I work at home, I kinda hate sitting in front of a PC. I wasnt playing a lot, but then got a steam deck at launch, and now I’m gaming a ton again.
I like the switch, but I really like how backwards compatible PC gaming is.
Always worth mentioning the free version of davinci resolve. It’s feature complete for your described needs, doesn’t hassle with things like watermarks, and the tools are great if you ever need to step up to something a little more robust.
And for how expensive portable consoles can be, I’m not calling anything a “steam deck killer” until I’m also confident it can be repaired and upgraded for years after I buy it.
The only benefit to Netflix games is that these games have no ads or IAP.
I honestly thought they already had…
I love the folks who just say “ugh shitty mobile games”, but the hook is like Apple Arcade. If my 8 year old wants to play a shitty gem swap game, there are two on Netflix with all mocrotransactions removed. Plus: Into the Breach TMNT Shredder’s Revenge + DLC Dust and Neon The GTA Definitive Games just went live Football Manager 2024 Asphalt Extreme Dead Cells Queens Gambit Chess Before Your Eyes Lego Legacy: Heros Unboxed Reigns Three Kingdoms Bloons TD6
So yeah, there are a bunch of mediocre “cute” games, but also some fun classics like cut the rope or world of goo. The point is, I’m already paying for Netflix, so these games are fun time wasters that won’t gouge me or my kid for gem packs or in game currency. Like Netflix used to be for DVD, it can also be the “last life” for a good PC or console game. I wouldnt pay for Netflix for these, but they’re nice to have while we still do pay for a single screen sub.
Right on! I’ll check it out! I don’t have a current era Nintendo, and my daughter is NOT that interested in 16 bit Mario Kart LOL.
More stories coming like this to prep folks for price hikes.
Oh good call! That’s cheap too!
Goggins is what got me on board too.
Had a devil of a time finding a good cartoony cart racer for PC. Giving Team Sonic Racing a try this weekend. The great thing about having a young kid who’s just getting into gaming, it really leans me into patience. We get to revisit a TON of old games, and they’re CHEAP.
I’m back to a full computer again too, and if you don’t have a laptop handy, the new little mini PCs are surprisingly affordable too. If you don’t want to build a raspberry pi.
I had that issue with two services two, but I’ve taken to using different containers now.
I know Louis CK is kinda on the out for references, but this was kinda spot on his bit about entitlement.
“Something (given out for free) that I didn’t even know about until today, and is just a fun experiment to share and learn from? Not good enough!”
Last one I went to was trashed and most of the shelves were empty. I keep thinking they could make more cash sub-letting kiosk spaces to smaller tech brands. If there’s funds rock the flea market look, they might as well go all the way.
Came here just to say something similar.
“Going FOSS really whips the llamas ass!”
