2 months agoHe has no opposition. The governor and LT governor (texas is weird about governors) are both close allies, and the republican party has had a stranglehold on state level politics for decades at this point.
What he is really doing here is threatening to sue if people don’t fall in line. If someone actually fights him in court they might win, but the vast majority of people are not ready and willing to start a legal battle with the state.
