I think it confronted some issues that many of us have been aware of for a long time in a somewhat superficial way. I also think that it brought some conversations into the mainstream that might not have happened otherwise. So I liked it.

My dad found out he was colorblind in kindergarten when he got an X on his coloring sheet for coloring the grass red. I can see how that would be an easy mistake to make if he had protanopia!
In addition to some of the other things mentioned here, I set my alarm early enough that I’m able to take my time getting ready in the morning. Having a little bit of quiet time to myself with a cup of tea really helps set the tone for my day.
I notice it as much as I notice any other article of clothing against any other part of my body. It doesn’t really register.

Echoing the other comments here. It was right about when I hit 30 that I really started trying to live the life that I want for myself. I still have mental health issues to work through, and sometimes it’s been two steps forward, one step back, but at 37 I can honestly say it’s been an overall positive trajectory.
I just try to be comfortable with the silence; if they’re uncomfortable that’s on them.

As cliche as it sounds, just be yourself. Have a conversation like you would with anyone you’re not on a date with. If it flows organically, it’s a good fit for continued dates. If it feels uncomfortable, it’s not.

This is one of those things that, if I can was in another country, if someone were to describe the base ingredients (like not literally spam but “pork” or whatever), I would think, “Not for me most of the time, but sounds like a tasty thing to try once.”
