Maybe the one guy’s father is called Christian. So he’s Christian’s (son) and just likes a good bar fight if there’s an opportunity. He doesn’t care about the fanfiction.
In German it’s even funnier if you translate haunted with “besessen” as it means “occupied by bad souls” and “being sit on” at the same time.
In the beginning of COVID I ran out of tea once and since then I got used to just drink warm water from the tap in most cases. 🚰
That’s new to me. For me so far it was sufficient to follow this part from the linked article…
Or, if Windows is already installed, from either the Sign on screen or the Start menu, select Power (Power button icon) > hold Shift while selecting Restart. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware settings.
As you’re currently using Windows on your PC, you might have to do an extended reboot. By default Windows skips the UEFI/USB step in the boot sequence to make Windows boot slightly faster.

From my perspective mails are federated. If I want to explain federation as a concept to someone I always use mail as an example because everyone can write to everyone independent of the provider, you can selfhost it easily, you could move from one company to another (if you use your own domain), protocols are all FOSS.
So at least it’s an open and distributed system. What would be missing for it to count as federated?
The problem with most crypto compared to regular money is that it’s often seen as an investment. However, one of the most important factors for a currency that is used in everyday transactions is stability and predictability. Money is supposed to ease trading goods and services as a universal middleman. It’s not supposed to make someone rich who invested first.
Of course there’s also inflation and deflation with regular money but as soon as that’s getting out of control, it typically leads to serious economic issues.
But just a tiny Matchbox car that you need to spend a small fortune over almost two decades before it’s ready for use.
Depending on the speed of the hotdog car you should get your exhaust checked. ;)
Looked at the graph for 5 minutes and I have no clue what it’s trying to say. Based on the text “cost per 1 metric ton” I would expect a one dimensional chart, not a x/y-axis and definitely not a stacked area chart. Didn’t watch the explanation video though.
Not for you today. Try again another day with proper shoes!
The splash reminds me of the Firefox logo.
I think that answer is very harsh and inadequate.
I never opposed welfare in my post and even highlighted that I appreciate the state supporting people in need. The part that suprised me was specifically the police is able to give job offers to negotiate in such a situation.
Many people are desperately looking for a job. And if you read in the news that a suicide attempt might get you one, I can absolutely see people taking that chance if they see no alternative way forward.
That’s why from my perspective there should be a preventive support system established that helps people BEFORE things escalate as in the case from the news article.
The police promised him employment in exchange to climb down the bridge? Does the police have any say in hiring people for the police or even other companies?
Although I appeciate their efforts to save that soul but if such promises make it to the news, wouldn’t that rather lead to ‘fake’ suicide attempts of people trying to negotiate better living conditions?
Just to be sure: Of course I appeciate if the state helps people out of unemployment etc. but that’s typically not a task for the police and it definitely shouldn’t require climbing on bridges.
Does it work to change that on-the-fly by manipulating the HTML source via the browser’s inbuilt dev tools?
Based on several videos I’ve seen in the past Ecosia is mostly greenwashing. Not sure if they recently changed something in their business practices but apparantly they planted vast amount of monoculture trees in relatively small areas. Thus, the majority of the trees just died due to lack of light, water and nutrients.
Not sure if helpful but Boost for Lemmy has this feature. It’s called “Muted Words”.
Somehow a pretty meta level joke if not only the rabbit but the entire international system of bloodtypes is possibly based on a typ0. 😂
In Boost for Lemmy you can see lists of everything you posted, commented, upvoted or downvoted in your profile.
