I’m in the same boat; can’t wait to switch but I will be converting my 2003 Jeep. I like standard shift and off road capabilities. I’m still not sure what kind of a conversion I will do since it floods here so you know lithium and water aren’t the best combination.

I think video games are a great way to get an idea of compatibility. I like Resident Evil 5 to gauge compatibility. I know it sounds silly but my ex-fiance was not a gamer yet we beat the game on the highest difficultly. We also had an easy time with Army of Two. The ex I had last, whom was a gamer, it was a thorough struggle. It’s fun to see how well you work together even if it’s a game.

I get that, that’s why I’ll never buy a new gas car. Too much of a headache after 2006. I’ve been wanting to do an electric conversion for over a decade. The charger thing I can do now, but the previous place I lived was HOA hell. Those assholes had the audacity to look in my shed; I watched it on camera. No way was it possible to have a charger, even if it was a 120v extension cord, someone would complain. But yeah, like the OP mentioned; I’ll have all the benefits of an EV and while keeping all the classic car aspects if I convert. I’m hoping to be able to engine brake with an EV motor… or maybe add in electric brakes in tandem.

15 mph here. And now there’s E-Bikes, which I like but they go up to 40 mph, so essentially motorcycles. And nobody wears the appropriate protective gear either.

That’s true, and I highly recommend doing that. I keep my jeep because it has a AMC I6 engine. I can probably get 300k to 500k miles out of the engine. Honestly I don’t know how much mileage there is on it because the vehicle is a 2003 but the engine is a 1998. I work on my own cars so that makes it easy to maintain even though it doesn’t really need anything.

Okay a funny, where I went to high school, a kid got pulled over for biking too fast. He was going like 20+, had nice road bike and strong legs, in a school zone. He didn’t get a ticket but it was funny.

That’s why I’ve wanted to convert my jeep into one, I’m sure the diff and transmission and transfer case will have no problem with the torque =) Plenty of space, and I can always upgrade the coils for more batteries and throw a solar panel on the roof rack. Still have to figure out AC though. I really wish there were more companies that offered to do conversions.

I’ve seen them but mines lifted so I’m not sure if it will affect people in sedans, my daily is a sedan and the new LED lights that pickups have illuminate my interior. I mean I plan to look into it, gotta lot of maintenance to do anyway.

This is a big issue, I’ve been thinking about aligning my head lights down so I can use brights. Why? Because they’re the old fashioned giant glass bulb ones (old jeep). They’re on so I don’t get a ticket and don’t really do anything. The car behind me lights the way.

I plan to just convert mine but the engine still runs. The engine was built in 1998… Still runs though.
