You, my friend, would probably enjoy the magazine ‘AdBusters.’ I have been a subscriber since college, 20 years now.
I like coffee, Philly, Pittsburgh, Arabic language, anything on two wheels, music, linux, theology, cats, computers, pacifism, art, unity, equity, etymology, the power of words, and getting high off airplane glue. Will use Adobe Illustrator for food.

Not all religions and cultures believe in Hell as a discrete place; it’s actually a pretty uniquely Christian (okay and Zoroastrian, leave me alone) eschatological phenomenon. Most world religions really understand the afterlife as a constant for everyone, in the way that if you get on a train and leave one station, you have little choice but to go to the next station.
In the Bahá’í tradition, ‘Heaven’ and ‘Hell’ are considered poetic (or, if you’re into the Monist / Dualist discourse, ‘fictional elements’) descriptions of the state of any one person’s spirit upon arriving at the afterlife. ‘Hell’ is a state in the way having chronic pain is ‘being in hell.’

This right here is the power of political cartoons in one example - like no other medium, it can just go right on up to it. God DAMN. Your magnum opus Lalo.

Let’s see, and who was Hyundai’s main competitor at assembling EV batteries in the US? 🤔

Nah, as someone who gave an honest, college try at making use of OneDrive, I maintain its fate vis a vie the rusty hook.

“Windows meme makers, can you go five seconds without revealing your appalling lack of technical curiosity?”
Windows Meme Makers: “The C drive! … How long was that?”

A paycheck is a paycheck. Lots of us exchange our ego for daily bread — we have a club and everything. We meet every day after work at your local bar.

Oh yeah. Don’t you guys also do murder scene remediation?

“Computer, fix this code and don’t make mistakes.”

“The longer you live, the younger you become” — this bitch has clearly never heard of human leukocyte antigens.

Ah, good thing those are cheap materials, then!

Millions of small retail or craft businesses now out of business: “haha so true bestie!”

My problem is that I only want striped tree squirrels to munch on my junk. Any suggestions?

In the way humanity can study the structure of the brain despite being inside one, consciousness is just the means by which the Universe discovers itself. Or something, I don’t know, I’m high.

if you ask me, mushrooms are a bullshit double standard. THEY get to show their genitals to passing hikers in the state park, but when I do it, suddenly everyone gets real prudish? What’s THAT about?

a lot of people aren’t old enough to remember that when the digg exodus happened, reddit didn’t even have subreddits yet. it was just links on one page, and we built our little subculture in the comments of each thread. that’s why there is such a culture of commenting before reading the article (if at all) — it used to be a big, disorganized blob of chatty nonsense, much like Fark or MetaFilter were at the time too.
reddit is a lovely example of how tech companies from 1995 to 2020 fell into success and figured out what their product does later down the line. to quote homer simpson when asked what his tech company does, “we’re a website that sells computers… or… a computer that sells websites, I haven’t decided yet.”
I am autistic and I can understand it. When stressed, autistic people can exhibit disordered thinking or just naturally pick up on relationships and patterns that neurotypical people do not. We can also have the appearance of unpredictable volatility when facing things like burnout or abuse.
Especially in an era where mental health treatment was really just sending you you to a prison.
