Yeah no doubt, and that’s why I like Tailscale.
I just map all users Tailnet visitors to guest
, and give me r/w and all others r/o.
Bugs me though that they could include it, with big red flashy warnings like you get enabling USB debugging.
not called Brad but rather a lad, from Bradford in the UK.
Enjoys breaking apps, escooters, spam rings and sometimes bones, but not my own. That sucks.

I keep pondering why Android has blobs for CIFS/SMB but not NFS, too.
Still haven’t found a legit reason why.
Yeah! I’ve been working far too hard and meant to get back to you, and the main admin has had a IRL issue so I can’t nag them right now and they also mentioned they need to update the instance?
You had a gander through the docs/GitHub to see if an existing thing lives for scheduled posts and could be even hosted by a numbnuts here on a spare Pi etc?
How long has Google been killing things now?
my comment meant I was preparing to fight.
You’re not.
Google are thou hence the shadowboxing reference.
how much they must value our personal data, that it only just now became worthwile to fight blockers with this much effort and PR/image depreciation.
You got it, on the nose.
Shadow boxing is always good practice.
Ultimately VPN users aren’t a protected class so it’s legal to discriminate.
This is what I’ve always found fascinating about companies and governments trying to block their usage.
All major firms/companies/governments use them, so, how the hell are they gonna stop them when their bosses get poked that’s something’s up 🙉
Fun times ahoy.
Because generally the TSA in Yankland are overly aggressive, but to be fair it can happen anywhere and here in the UK if they snag you into the backroom and want to search your phone you’re screwed either way since they, can.
We’re talking about Nintendo here, and we all remember Sony taking away things that made things better too, right?
Seems a bit dubious doesn’t it, especially since they’d be compromising any investigation by Tweeting about it in the first place.
:thinking_gif:
Yeah I’m unsure of the scheduling of posts on Lemmy, and I know @coles is looking into some form of Automod here on lemdro.id.
Let me poke a few more others ;)
I’m unsure if there’s something on Lemmy for that, but it’s definitely something that helps the community since most mod actions I recall are poking people in the right direction like PAAFM.
Awesome team and community over there, and there is the old wiki pages too 🤔
Nah.
USB is slow, and will kill the drive if used 24/7. I know it’s hard to expend too much money on a dedicated box for storage but long term you’ll thank yourself for investing.
3TB of data I lost and paying to recover that data? Dammit, hindsight is a bitch
Says on the product page that that Beelink supports a maximum 2TB SSD, so I wouldn’t go buying another unless you’re sure it can.
As others have said, no USB drives as I’ve had a failure with one too hence me now having a NAS. I know you said you’re allergic to spending money but saving up for one was the best thing I’ve bought for a while.
Fraid not.
I recall worrying about MAC address tracking one time and using Chainfire’s MAC privacy app, but that’s a non factor now since they’re randomised by default on Android on the most recent versions.
You know, I’d 99% of the time agree with you but has anyone else tried out the little (travel?) routers from GL-iNet?
Their default router interface ain’t half bad at all, and if you do need to use Luci you can simply do that too
I bought a couple of them for a family member and they haven’t poked me once for help with them.
It’s ridiculous they don’t include either and I say that as someone who doesn’t actually need either, really.
But it’s nice to be able to backup my DCIM folder to the SDcard and then sync that via a network share on a regular basis, especially if I hadn’t got adb enabled and/or I had a smashed screen?
It also allows me to just wipe my internal storage anytime without worry because I don’t record many videos and photos take up fugg all storage with a 3.2.1 backup plan.
edit: What’s the point of excluding, a headphone jack too I feel is the real question.
Hold on a second Mister OP, you missed the most important pros and cons.
Has an IR Blaster thank fuck, but, is missing a 3.5mm jack and SDCard.
I know these “cons” are meme complaints by now and while I’ve actually used Bluetooth earbuds before Android was a thing (see, jackless Sony Walkman W850…), but feel you should be including them as cons since many revel for those simple hardware bonuses we’re used to from Xiaomi.
Alas :(
So, I just had a gander myself and this is pretty involved

Maybe there’s some existing thing I’m missing but it would be cool :/
