LLMs arent necessarily consistent in telling you about facts since it’s just software that knows which words fit well together and itself has no beliefs of what is and isn’t true (or even what is and isn’t likely). It can easily tell you one thing on monday and another thing on tuesday if it isn’t trained well. If the original tweet is actual output and not photoshop, it would show it was trained on holocaust-denying material. The conversation you link to suggest it was trained on factual historic information. But those two things aren’t exclusive - it can have had both as training data. That is i think the worrying part, it might have been (accidentally or intentionally) been trained on inaccurate historic ‘information’.

As others said, you’ll get by with just speaking English - if you’re serious think of what would matter aside from language: a life in Italy will be very different than a life in German, not only the weather but also the work culture. Also think of which countries ‘match’ your education, being somewhere with loads of jobs in your expertise will make things a lot easier. I’d advise anyone able to move from US to Europe to take a leap of faith - if it doesn’t work out and the US has by then returned to normal you can just move back and if it doesn’t work out and america didn’t return to normal you’ll likely be happy at least you got out before it got real bad.
I hope you have more pixels once you reach 70 though
Winter, however, is a cold, dark and wet mess. Truly depressive.
Anyone saying summer ‘only has good pr’ doesn’t have winters like that.

So often have I heard national lobbyist and politicians say ‘we are not against fines, but we need to make sure it’s fixed on a European level so there is fair competition in our single level’. Getting so tired of all the bullshit these businesses tell us.
huppakee@feddit.nlto Buy European@feddit.uk•In Munich, early signs of a European hyperscaler revolt11·22 days agoCristina Caffara, an economist and antitrust expert, says the hyperscalers have responded to this movement by deploying an “army of lobbyists” in Brussels.
At the press conference, Caffara said the lobbyists are “relentlessly” targeting senior figures in Brussels to derail digital sovereignty efforts in Europe. The panellists even speculated that the EU-backed digital sovereignty initiative, Gaia-X, had been “infiltrated” by tech companies seeking to sabotage the movement by overloading it with bureaucracy.
The hyperscalers are not deaf to Europeans’ concerns. Google and Microsoft, for instance, recently issued public statements designed to allay any worries about US hostilities; providers are building strictly EU-regulated data centres across Europe; and, earlier this year, Google launched its ‘cloud data boundary’, which gives customers more control over where data is stored and processed, and a ‘user data shelf’ for validating the security of apps built via that data boundary.
However, Frank Karlitschek, the CEO of Nextcloud, which supplies customers including France’s interior ministry and Amnesty International with open-source, self-hosted collaboration software, describes such moves from the hyperscalers as “sovereignty-washing”.
“[The hyperscalers] say they have hosting centres in Europe, so it’s all fine. But the Cloud Act states that if you’re a US organisation, you follow the US law, which means you need to give US agencies access to this data,” Karlitschek said at the press conference.

I think that still holds true today. Since you can only be invaded against your will, i don’t really agree that the scenario you mention can be considered ‘a necessary invasion’ because the scenario in which you are invited by the host country is very very different to the scenario when you’re going there uninvited.

You forget that there are steps (possible) between data crawling and llm training, i expect they will at least grade the quality (not by hand or anything) and any reasonable company will not want to feed their llm with just about anything. I sure hope competitors do actually filter this garbage out before training their ai.
I think that is much more likely than it just straight out denying the holocaust, but my point is that is should be able to churn that out just like it should be able to teach people how to make bombs. An LLM can only give accurate information if ingested that information during its training. I remember for example an early image generator not showing nipples on a woman breastfeeding, likely because it only had access to censured images. Basically the digital varient of the ken doll.
