There’s a neat Turkey vulture that likes to hang out on the roof of my garage. The neighbors have a wide open field behind my house. I’m pretty sure he lives nearby.

Finally got the !nolawns@slrpnk.net wiki to be identical to the Reddit wiki! Or, at least all the info is the same. I think the way it’s linked is a bit different but that has more to do with reddits limitations. My Reddit mod team and I are discussing an overhaul on the wiki so I’m sure I’ll have more work to do in the future 🤣

I don’t blame the teachers, I blame the system. I know too many teachers who have been yelled at by admin for daring to teach in a way the kids can learn because it’s “not what you’re supposed to teach, stick to the curriculum.”

Yup same. Then a few phones went missing, parents threatened to sue because cell phones were insanely expensive back then, and the school told teachers they couldn’t do that anymore. 🤷‍♀️

This one almost got me. It’s so hard these days because everything is insane.

I just redid the wiki recently to match the Reddit wiki so you no longer need to go to Reddit for the good info. I’m not sure where you live but I’d see if you have any native plant groups around you. The US has wildones.org which has some pretty great info on their website.

Having something that we can actually do. Changing the world is too broad. It feels huge and impossible. But starting a recycling program where you just have to put stuff in a different can, that’s doable. Planting native plants in your yard that are pretty but help, that’s doable.

When we talk about bigger things, breaking down the steps for people helps. Instead of “call your reps” which is vague. You can tell people in your area "call your reps, your can find their info this way, you should say something like this. It feels achievable.

As someone with ADHD, this is a pretty great concept.

There’s a lot of ways to incorporate things that would naturally live in those environments.

Someone posted on Reddit today (I know, I know) that they couldn’t go to any adult content (I assume he meant porn) sites at all, it was returning an error. As soon as he verified (he used a credit card) he could operate as normal.

This is one of the things I love. Talk about something you like, creator shows up. Wholesome.

The barrier to solar in my area is that half the companies seem scammy and that you’re leasing this stuff for 10-20 years and so many people are 5-10 years in and have leaking around the solar panels and they can’t get the solar company to even look at their roof. If they have some kind of way to avoid or work with that last one, this could absolutely work.

I really need to install graphene to this pixel. When I upgraded I had a bunch of stuff going on so I didn’t take the time to do it and now it’s been like a year…
