I sympathize with you, as this is where I’m at as well. I’ve lost that battle. Everything is Google, Snapchat, and Facebook.

One of my dad’s favorite songs. Great tune, and so many memories of this growing up.
Definitely remember listening to this on the bus in middle school. Some days the bus would be late and I’d get to listen to more of the album before school. Great album!
This browser is helpful on iOS because it can run Firefox or chrome extensions. Ublock origin works great. I don’t see any ads.
9·1 year agoMost companies use a service to send their newsletters. You should be able to find the IP address from the email headers and then find the abuse email for that company. Email them, tell them you are unable to unsubscribe and their customer is thus sending you spam. Attach the email headers and 90% of the time they will take action (at least from my informal observation when I used to do this).

102·1 year agoThis is where I’m at. If I push it any more, she will turn off wifi on her phone and complain.
I’ve tried getting her to move to my hosted email instead of gmail, but she refused. She’s been wanting an Alexa speaker and even has the kids on board. That’s where most of my energy goes for picking my battles at this stage.

I recently found myself in the market for one of these when my father in law decided to connect my Vizio TV to the internet. All the updates since 2019 installed and it became unusable with all the crap they installed/changed. No way to downgrade firmware.
I bought a 55” Samsung display and it works great as a dumb tv. I can connect via HDMI and my antenna just like a regular tv. The interface is a little clunky at times but that’s because it’s set up for a display board. I can even plug my flash drive into it for videos/pictures. It will never connect to the internet although it has that capability (and apparently an app for if it’s used as a display).
