backscatter@lemm.eeto Constructed Languages@mander.xyz•The Weekly c/conlangs Post #1English3·1 month agoHello.
I’m probably throwing this post into the void, as the last post was 11 months ago, but I thought I’d share my conlang anyway.
It’s called Koiwak (/kɔɪ.ʃʌk/), and was built on the basic underlying principles of Esperanto and Toki Pona, meaning that it’s phonetic and is designed as a personal language - that is, a way of talking/thinking that doesn’t carry the baggage of natural language. In speech, it sounds like Esperanto, Latin, and German were put in a blender and mixed, with slight hints of many other languages. It’s a weird little beast but I’m quite proud of it. I had no linguistics background when I started, and even had to learn the IPA as I went.
Why would aliens ever visit us? They’d observe from afar, laugh a scornful laugh, and guard against any of us getting near them.
I don’t mind if they take her out of Earth’s atmosphere… as long as they leave her there.
I only have it on Conworkshop, and I need to make some changes that will affect hundreds of words. Once I get that sorted, I’ll make a post.
