For all of the shit people talk about the English language, this is a big thing I appreciate about it. What the hell was the point of even gendering random things from the start? In German, the main gendering are die, der, and das with das being gender neutral. I would like to see a world where in scenarios like that they just move everything to das.

The article states that on a bunch of items they’ve just been eating the cost so they’ve been paying the tariffs instead of passing them on. For those cases, there is nothing to refund to the consumers.

It’s something about the reputation. All of those super sport bikes are insanely powerful but it always seems like the worst people to own them are riding GSXRs (we called them Gixxers). I used to race (on a track) and we would see racers come in with second hand GSXRs that had been repaired from accidents, totaled, sold by insurance, and turned into track bikes.

As a musician with a small catalog on the streaming sites, everyone other than Spotify seems to pay at least something. I am still on Apple Music despite my issues with the UI because they actually pay a good amount for streams. I got more from a handful of streams in TikTok than from thousands of streams on Spotify. The truth is that unless your big, your basically putting music on Spotify for free.

So, like everything else, I assume the process will look like this. Lower courts and every appellate court will rule in favor of Lisa Cook and then the Supreme Court will overrule those verdicts 6-3. I’m starting to feel like maybe I have a gift for seeing the future.

I still haven’t owned a car new enough to have the start/stop feature so it’s helpful reading these comments about the experiences with it. One day (after the wheels fall off my car), I’ll keep this in mind while test driving vehicles.

I never had that feature but I just rented a Volvo Hybrid for a week for a road trip and I’m pretty sure it had the feature. Because it’s hybrid, the gas engine turned off but I never really noticed because the electric engine would start you off while the gas engine did its thing. The result was a pretty seamless experience. I couldn’t really tell when the gas engine was off or on in city driving. There may be better options out there as this is the only one I’ve driven but that was super smooth. I heard when it’s gas only that the experience can feel “lurchy”.

I’ve had an Apple Watch 5 since it came out and I see no reason to upgrade. The only thing I really dislike is the battery life but to fix that you’d need to get a Garmin or similar. So can’t think of a reason I would upgrade.
