Where I’m from the miner syndicates were repeatedly used by the communists to quell protests in the early nineties. Left leaning or not, they were another tool of opression in the authoritarians’ arsenal, much like the military/NG in the OP.

This feels like misplaced anger, given that blackstone owns god knows how much of the real estate market ( and have recently been evicting tenants in order to sell, due to the city becoming ‘less hospitable’ ). But hopefully the new anti airbnb measures have some effect.
Does anybody have the original study? I tried to find it but the link is dead ( looks like NANDA pulled it )
For children’s safety, right?
I’m not sure this lawsuit has a chance. For one, don’t think forcing a company to extend support for free will fly in any court. Second, microsoft doesn’t really care about windows - pc sales are slumping worldwide and now that nadella is balls deep in AI windows’ sole reason for existing is the data it can grab through copilot/recall, so they’ll likely keep pushing that, backwards compatibility be damned. The cynic in me says they’ll settle out of court and microsoft will likely go on as planned.
Like they got somethin to say
“We can’t be bothered to offer decent service in our hospitals so we’re offloading that responsibility on volunteer centres. It’s the future!”
Yeah, wasn’t sims 4 with all dlc like 1 grand just a couple yeara ago?
Love how fast they all dial back after seeing the reaction on nintendo’s 80$ approach. But seriously EA I don’t care for those extra 10 bucks upfronf if your games are still the mtx and gambling infested shit they currently are.
I wonder what it was that made Pornhub cooperate this time around. Iirc in texas and france they just “left” instead of implementing the age verification.
As a PC player I wholeheartedly welcome the demise of exclusives, but are the strategies toward them really changing? Near as I can tell it’s only microsoft that’s pivoting, and that’s probably because they have to. Sony is sticking to their strategy of the past few years of delayed PC releases, and nintendo does what nintendo does - keeps everything in-house and sues everyone.
Tamriel! Or at least Cyrodiil+Elsweyr
Smartphones are common targets for thieves because they contain valuable personal data and fetch high prices on second-hand markets. To protect this data, Android includes theft protection features that lock down a stolen phone. While thieves might try wiping phones they intend to sell, Android already has robust protections against unauthorized factory resets. Google announced today that these factory reset protections will become even more powerful later this year.
Self-contradicting much?
These justifications are pointless anyway, everybody knows that google and only google has the right to rummage through your data.
“We will not allow you to reset the data until we can confirm that the data is yours”
You wouldn’t shoot a policeman! And then steal his helmet!
Damn antisemites are everywhere!
He’ll probably sit on 40% of the votes by the end of the count. It’s pretty fuckin grim.
Next year is a mayoral election year, so all this feels like political posturing to me. I don’t doubt that the “diesel lobby” wasn’t pleased with her changes, but the way she tells it smells like victimization. Also having a car-less approach to running a city is not exactly controversial in the year of our lord 2025. There are a lot of cities that pioneered car-less city design before she got into office ( altough in her defense, this kind of change may be harder to implement in extra large metropolitan areas like Paris ). Oh, and another thing: she’s been in office 11 years and traffic-wise the city hasn’t changed much outside the central touristy areas. You’d think she could’ve done a lot more in that kind of time. I go through the city every now and then and I feel the only thing that changed is the growing number of trikes and motorcycles on the periferiques. Maybe someone from Paris can chime in on her actual accomplishments?
I was wondering when microsoft would start putting the screws to steam.
Mark my words, soon it’ll be a requirement to have the xbox app to run your steam stuff ( or smth similar )
Plastic may be so, but glass recycling has been a thing for decades (depending on where you are), aliminium recycling is all well, same for paper (if grease free) There’s also wooden alternatives for a lot of plastic/silicon stuff, and wood can be reused/burned/mulched.
So in a way it IS your responsibility - to give up plastic
…except they haven’t, have they? They still have to work 40h a week ( not including OT ) under increasing pressure to deliver fast. Productivity may have increased, yes, but they haven’t saved shit.
