I think I might have liked this series more if it came out like 15 years ago. Right now it just comes off as immature and overly quirky/comedic.

Protostar mentioned! A little too much Shakey Cam. A little too much swearing. Cuss words still feel weird in Star Trek. Sound mixing in the Xenomythology scene of Episode 2 felt off. So, did they forgo green makeup for some of the Orions(?) because it’s hard to apply? Some of those looked digitally colored. Apparently, they heavily considered making Gamora blue instead of green because of such problems with application, so I don’t blame them. Episode 2 got real cheesy near the end. I’m glad to see a love for what seems to be all of trek, with cameos of species like Brikar from Prodigy, the Exocomp, old style Klingons, DS9, and so on. Overall though, it just seems like the priorities are skewed and much of it looks kind of cheap.

I didn’t realize how I missed Ruby until we checked in on her again. The Aesop of this episode was a little too hammered in though, baseball caps included.
It was hard to explain why, but it definitely had a “comic from over a decade ago” feel that I noticed before seeing the 2011 post date.
This conversation quickly switched from from etymology to entomology.

Completely hooked on: Baldur’s Gate 3.
Completely hooked on in the past tense and stopped playing: Overwatch.

Here I was thinking about how Madagascar must be smaller than I thought if it’s the same size as Ukraine. It looks so big on a map, like a quarter Australia.
I also thought Switzerland being the same size as Bhutan to be rather interesting, as they both have famous mountain ranges and tend to be a neutral while sandwiched between bigger powers.
Toxic perchlorates from Martian regolith add a certain Je ne sais quois to the smell of Asphalt, Tire particulates, and ozone.

Don’t social media prevent 13 year olds and under from signing up anyway? They ask for your age but it doesn’t seem to keep kids from lying about their age and going on facebook, instagram, twitter, TikTok, etc, regardless. That’s disregarding the idea that a child could just use their parent’s account. What’s the enforcement besides the honor system and a vague threat of being sued? I am failing to see a difference between the state of things now and what that bill wants to introduce.

Never ask a Hobbit what they got in their pocketses. Bad time will be had by all.

I’ve been catching myself calling it the activation rune instead of the power button.

Speaking of hooves, it’s funny to think how a whale is more related to a cow than a cow is a to a horse.
Thok moving of the piece of clothing to the side had me really chuckling.
I see they decided to address the more foul Language in this show compared to other Star Treks. I would have liked if it was addressed as a cultural shift regarding the evolution of language over centuries but instead they “Effed it up.”
I never really took debate in school, but is that really how it goes? One student winner debating everyone for practice until they “lose?” Constant citations of things like they were called out anime punches? It seemed more like it school debate as written by someone who never did a debate club/class, but I never took one neither so I felt I should ask.
