In that case, you can use red chili peppers, but feel free to substitute any chili pepper to your taste.

0·9 天前Honestly, I’d prefer not to steal. I WANT the anime industry to have something for my appreciation.
To have it simultaneously decrease in quality AND go up in price is a slap in the face.
Anime was made popular by nerds sharing VHS tapes. A friend of a friend of a friend would get some episodes, another friend would add on to it, and it would end up a whole season on one tape that was a copy of a copy of a copy. The first time I saw the correct opening scene of the original Ranma 1/2 I was surprised by how the music didn’t actually warble from being copied. Digital piracy takes away from that because nobody is buying tapes.
Guess I could still buy merch.

0·9 天前Honestly, I have been considering cancelling. The price is going up and the quality is going down. Any 2-bit translator can crank out what they are putting out with raws, screenshots, and voice to text. With the resources they are gleaning, this shit should sparkle.

0·14 天前True philanthropy from the rich includes them hiding their names from sight.
That is the way to do it, but the sour part is that people will only see your moneybags.
For instance, if I actually made $500m annually and donated $450m, people would only see my fat stacks of cash from living off 300k each year and banking almost 50m.

2·15 天前I hear you, and that was my first thought reading through the article.
According to TFA:
While games using English can rely on system UI fonts, cheap commercial fonts or open-source options, the sheer number of characters used in Japanese means high-quality fonts are extremely difficult and expensive to make, so few affordable alternatives are available. This is what made LETS an important service, but its revamped pricing and limitations have now put it beyond the reach of a good chunk of developers.
Maybe there are alternatives out there, and I think a crowd sourced open font would be a great idea. I personally have no idea how to go about organizing a project of that scope.
Also, tbf, my answer was more emotional bitching than a serious take.

21·15 天前I will gladly replace dishwashers with dishwashing machines if they are energy, water, and cost-efficient, but I don’t believe we are discussing artisan dishwashing. This borderline association approaches sophistry, so I think it is much better to discuss the use of art and the corporate hoarding of artwork.
Monotype does seem to pay font creators well for royalties.. My frustration is the aggressive pricing models, the growth of monotype to where they own the whole market (per tfa), and the way they are demanding payment for fonts without checking to see if there is an existing license..
Basically, I will encourage and pay for fair business practices. Squeezing people for cash pisses me off. I’m not knowledgeable enough to pretend to create a free font set in this manner, but I would advocate creating tools that would fuck up the market. Open fonts would be great, but again tfa says that it’s too complicated of a data set for that, and the market is too small for independent artists.
Lastly, my answer wasn’t a valid solution. There are plenty of legal and social hurdles to it.

13·15 天前Not a fan of generative works, but this seems like a clear place to use it to fuck shit up.
Nih.hira.term.aigen.ttf Nih.katak.term.aigen.ttf Nih.kanji1.term.aigen.ttf Nih.kanji2.term.aigen.ttf Etc
Not the fault of the prompter if the resulting fonts appear to resemble licensed fonts, which are often slightly different copies of each other anyway.
Generative works cannot be copyrighted, so it would forever be in the public domain.
The only drawback would be that you would have to announce that you used slop in your game.

9·7 个月前Is Fox slowly turning on Trump? This reminds me of how they like to start with small pot shots and then start picking on the points that stick.
First off, no hard feelings here. I have been a Christian for a very long time, but that’s not the point. Just wanted to clear the air before I go on.
It is easy to take Christianity and make it self serving. Having been a member of a generic Christian Church in the past, supply side Jesus is very real.
I’m not going to pretend I don’t have my head up my ass around certain issues, but most of what Christians are being taught are old testament and then selected passages from Jesus’ followers. What is missing is the golden rule (fucking respect others, okay?), the parts where it says to not seek money (prosperity is bullshit, it’s about actual spiritual growth), to do good without calling attention to yourself, and that everyone is fundamentally equal.
It’s super easy to take the Bible and make it say whatever you want. The Jesus I follow actually would agree with most of the seven tenants of the Satanic Temple.
That Jesus guy who said to rigorously follow the law, punishing those who step out of line, bringing religious rule to those who do not follow God’s word?

Hmm. Why wouldn’t you save the keys in persistent flash storage? To prevent disassembly?
