The Georgist dumbshits honestly think Einstein saying George’s book was “important” made him a Georgist. Like he’s their most famous celebrity fellow traveler.
But if you read “Why Socialism?” the dude is a straight up crypto-marxist. Nothing he said even comes close to representing a Georgist analysis. He’s just flat out calling for a a rationally planned and administered economy.
The fucking weird thing about Lysenkoism was that it was ridiculous and unscientific, but it never precipitated a catastrophic failure. In fact the years of Lysenkoism saw productive increases, which just goes to show how extremely far behind the starting point of the Soviet Union was. They could adopt and enforce statewide pseudoscience and still do better than they were.
Yeah say what you will, but dialectical materialism at worst tolerates pseudo-science such as Lysenkoism, but it never allowed for the wholesale adoption of social darwinism and eugenics that capitalist nations with no coherent philosophy of science had informing their murderous and genocidal policy.
The entire continent of Africa produces 3% of global carbon emissions. Carbon production is basically exponentially associated with wealth. Making the top 1000 wealthy individuals live at the carbon emission level of the next wealthiest 1% would reduce carbon emissions more than the entire continent of Africa.
If they really care about environmental destruction, they should support wealth redistribution.
