I’m not sure but I think that comment might be clever satire

I don’t disagree with your overall point, but statistics like that are almost always heavily skewed because of high infant mortality rates
Which is exactly why I called my local election office, and I even mentioned it might have been because of the rain we were having, but I was told no, it wasnt the damp that caused it because they had confirmed with the factory that sent the ballots out that some had been sent out like that. They then told me to tape it and when I was hesitant because I had the same thought as you they told me they had checked several times with the registrar that taping them up was what to do. They said it was a known issue so it would be accepted.
A lot of the virginia ballots were mailed out with the return envelopes already sealed up. I called the election office and they said to cut them open and just seal them back with tape 🤣
Edit: to all the folks concerned about my vote, thank you for your concern. I’m not too worried about it for several reasons. You can check online to see when your ballot is received and accepted, so I’ll be doing that. If it isn’t accepted in the next week or so I’ll definitely be making some calls. Worse comes to worse, I can always go to my polling place on the day and get a provisional ballot in case something happens to my mail-in. I live in a pretty blue area so I have some trust in the local offices here; they’ve given no reason for me to be suspicious. Nonetheless I’ll still be double checking.
I genuinely thought this was going to end with like “and then shove it up your ass!” or something
The complaints i read on another thread was that it never stops holding your hand, like telling you how to complete puzzles before you even get a chanve to try
This might be a stupid question, but are the video artifacts real in this? For some reason they look way more like analog (like a vhs tape) than digital artifacts but surely that can’t be the case?
couldn’t pronounce “graphics”
That’s not how acronym pronunciation works though. We don’t pronounce them based on the words they stand for, otherwise we would pronounce NASA, SCUBA, LASER, etc. differently. Both pronunciations have valid arguments so why can’t we just accept both and stop being weird about it.
The sense of obligation towards your coworkers is something companies absolutely abuse and exploit. I’m not saying don’t have empathy for your fellow human, but people aren’t typically incentivized to use best possible solutions if they take more work outside of this obligation so you have to be careful to not let yourself be exploited because of it.
Blaming Hillary’s loss on one progressive idea instead of the millions of other reasons people had to not vote for her is just straight up head-in-the-sand insane.
Al Gore got straight up robbed by the SC, but even ignoring that let’s not forget that was 24 years ago and climate action was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy less popular than it is now. Let’s also not forget he won the popular vote.
In addition to what the other reply linked about cleaning the cartridges, it could be your SNES has some bad capacitors. Not all games use all parts of the motherboard, and from what I understand SNES consoles were somewhat plagued with bad caps like many electronics from the era. If you can solder it should be quite easy to just replace em all in one go; there are even kits you can buy that include all the correct ones.
Ohhhh for some reason my mind went to him trying to tutor other dudes to help them with women. Was very confused.
World War Z, the book not the basically unrelated movie, is definitely the best imo. As a bonus the audiobook has a full cast of narrators including Mark Hamil and Common.
I’ll be your friend
I know a lot of people won’t believe it happens, because the simpler and more mundane explanation (which is usually the true one) is that it isn’t necessary because of all the data that we know is being collected like browsing habits, searches, etc but my partner has a few times tried to test this as a party trick. Normally her ads are for like kitcschy knick-knacks or like funky flower pots but one time we were hanging with friends talking about this discussion and we decided to all repeat out loud “lab grown diamond engagement rings” for about 15 min. Not 1 hour later she had an Instagram ad that said word for word “lab grown diamond engagement rings.” I know it’s anecdotal and isn’t proof but we’ve done this a few times and it’s seemed to work about half the time; each time we get an ad that’s both hyper specific to what we’re taking about and also not something close to anything we’ve been advertised before.
Actually in ID4 there was an explanation. Basically all of humanity’s computer tech came from reverse engineering alien tech. So our computers worked with theirs because they were based on theirs. Maybe this isn’t this best logic, but they did at least have an in universe explanation.
Well Electric Lady is the name of the studio that live album was recorded at, which is a studio in NYC that Jimi commissioned, so those two at least are related.
If you haven’t listened to her live at Electric Lady album i highly recommend. The band she has is absolutely killer.
How does searching discord work? I was under the impression that entire chat logs weren’t permanent and that older exchanges would be routinely deleted.
