She’s a much better candidate than Biden, and Biden was a much better candidate than trump or Hillary Clinton. It’s been eight years, or closer to ten if you include the campaign season for the 2016 election. People are rightfully excited about Harris. You’re absolutely right that we can do better, but this is the most excited I’ve ever been for a candidate. I was pessimisticly excited for Obama, but was afraid he wouldn’t be able to win the general election.
Rational and rationale are two different words. This page gives some good examples for both: https://writingexplained.org/rational-vs-rationale-difference
It looks like you want an AI summary of what users thought about your comment, is that right? Here you go!
I’ll take small menu ordering every time. If we’re all getting the same thing and the choice is quantity, it’ll likely be fresh.
unique breathing mechanic, where you have to press a button to inhale and release the button to exhale
I get that a satirical game about the pandemic probably just isn’t my cup of tea, but this breathing mechanic sounds like such unnecessary tedium.
It tastes like vanilla coke, but different. I described it as greasy vanilla, but creamy might be a nicer way to put it. I didn’t notice any chocolate flavor.
That was already done over fifty years ago through the national flood insurance program, NFIP.
PSA: If you are in a flood prone area, your lender may require you to purchase flood insurance. But did you know that some communities will argue against changes to the flood maps that would show them as being in a flood prone area? This means you may be at a higher risk for flooding than the federal maps would suggest. You can still buy flood insurance through the NFIP, though.
Here’s a “myths and facts about flood insurance” page from FEMA: https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20230425/fact-sheet-myths-and-facts-about-flood-insurance
The 3% is full RTO, down from 8% last year. The article goes into all the details.
The “people don’t want to work anymore” rallying cry has always confused me. Who ever wanted to work in the first place?
What’s the point of those types of bots, though? I guess they’re just trying to have vaguely genuine looking accounts to use for some future purpose, maybe political or advertising related.
What I don’t miss from reddit is the bot comments. Not the novelty bots that reply if your comment is in alphabetical order or something like that, but actual chat gpt responses to regular posts or comments.
I have no idea what the point of them is, but they’re awful.
I would love for them to provide more diversity in their options for bike directions, great idea.
Personally I would expect a road bike to be usable on 100% of paths on a maps suggested route. I would really like something that could look at my strava history and make suggestions for other routes or trails to try, though.
insurance invalidation
For clarity, if you do a stupid job at your DIY solar installation and it burns your house down, that is likely a covered cause of loss. There isn’t a policy exclusion for stupidity, unfortunately.
There may be an exclusion for the panels themselves since you could argue that improper workmanship was the proximate cause of loss, but the ensuing damage would likely be covered.
A similar scenario would be an improper plumbing repair flooding your house. Insurance won’t pay to redo the plumbing that was wrong, but it will pay to fix the water damage.
Language highlighting is mostly why I use np++.
Have you played A Plague Tale (innocence, then requiem)? It’s one of the best story driven games I’ve ever played. It’s entirely linear, so plot urgency doesn’t feel artificial like it does in open world games.
Sorry, the term HEB is already taken by Texas groceries.
Didn’t we already learn this lesson with Harley Davidson?
They’re building to skirt regulations (efficiency requirements scale related to vehicle size) instead of just making the small reliable vehicles that almost everyone actually needs. The increased size of the average vehicle also leads some people to prefer larger vehicles themselves even if they don’t need them. Try driving a smaller car and see how much more often you’re blinded by headlights, both oncoming and from behind.
I don’t know what the solution is but I’m glad to hear car makers are not seeing massive success with the current oversized lineups.
